Helen ZuspanFuneral Services were held 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 5, 1994 at the Aurora First Christian Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Helen Frances Zuspan Helen Frances Zuspan, the daughter of Elwin and Emma (Titman) Van Berg, was born in Aurora, Nebraska, and passed away in Lincoln, Nebraska, on January 1, 1994. She grew up in Aurora, graduated from Aurora High School, attended Hastings College, and taught school in Aurora and surrounding areas. On June 14, 1938, she was united in marriage to Dr. A.G. Zuspan, in Canton, Missouri. After their marriage they made their home in Aurora and became very involved in the life of the community. Helen was an active member of the Aurora First Christian Church, was superintendent of the primary Sunday School for many years, and belonged to the Christian Women’s Fellowship. She was a charter member of the Hamilton Manor Auxiliary, and was a frequent visitor to residents. Helen was also very active with youth projects, and was a den mother for Cub Scouts. Through her son Bill she was keenly interested and active in supporting school activities and athletics for the youth of Aurora. Her natural love of youth brought her to be involved in many young lives throughout her years. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Marion and Baltis Van Berg, and two sisters, Mary Laurie and Visa Van Berg. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband, Dr. A.G. Zuspan, of Aurora; one son Bill, and his wife Kathy and two grandsons, Ryan and Rhett of Lincoln; one brother Leonard Van Berg of Escondido, California; and two sisters Alberta Sandin and Edna Fowler, both of San Diego, California, and many other relatives and close friends. |
